BUKINDNON, Philippines, November 27, 2002 (LifeSiteNews.com) – While the pro-abortion leaning media have lashed out at him, a Philippine parish priest is being praised by his archdiocese for preaching against the use of abortifacient IUDs.  The Philippine Daily Inquirer reports that a parish priest, Fr. Joseph Schwegmann, has refused communion to women who refused to remove the abortifacient devices.  The pro-abortion Population Commission was infuriated to learn that at least 24 women had removed the abortifacient devices.  However, when contacted about the incidents, the archdiocese praised the faithful priest.  Msgr. Rey Monsanto, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro refuted charges that the church was ‘forcing’ women to remove the devices.  “It is a grave sin to use artificial methods of family planning including the use of IUDs. Those who have been persuaded by the Family Life Apostolate conscientiously had their IUDs removed.”  (Philippine Daily Inquirer, 22 November 2002)  To send a message of support to the Archdiocese:  Archbishop’s House P.O.
