October 31, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Planned Parenthood has waded into another American debate over immigration, inspiring pro-lifers to raise another wave of questions and critiques about the abortion giant’s priorities.
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump revealed he plans to issue an executive order ending the automatic granting of U.S. citizenship to children of illegal immigrants born on American soil. Both parties once denounced the doctrine of “birthright citizenship,” but today there is intense debate over whether the concept was ever intended by the Constitution’s 14th Amendment, and whether a president can eliminate it unilaterally.
Regardless of the answer to those questions, pro-lifers raised their eyebrows at pro-abortion groups claiming to support “birthrights.”
The move would be “despicable, egregious, unconstitutional,” and “incredibly harmful,” the Planned Parenthood Action Fund declared. NARAL shared a tweet from the left-wing American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) accusing Trump of trying to “erase” the 14th Amendment’s “clear” guarantee of citizenship.
Despicable, egregious, unconstitutional.
Eliminating #birthrightcitizenship would be incredibly harmful & is part of this administration’s radical, hateful agenda to stoke fear in our communities and contribute to many people’s already very real fear of deportation. https://t.co/r3SUnkNVBm

This is a blatantly unconstitutional attempt to fan the flames of anti-immigrant hatred in the days ahead of the midterms.
The 14th Amendment’s citizenship guarantee is clear. You can’t erase the Constitution with an executive order, @realDonaldTrump. https://t.co/8vGkjOlPsE

All three organizations favor the legal ability to abort pre-born babies at virtually any point before birth, and reject applying the 14th Amendment’s promise of equal protection to pre-born human beings.
Notably, the abortion lobby also opposes the right of children of illegal immigrants to be born. They bitterly opposed the Trump administration for actively resisting efforts to facilitate abortions for teen immigrants in federal custody, and Justice Brett Kavanaugh for siding with the administration on the question as a District of Columbia circuit court judge.
Pro-lifers were quick to point out the abortion lobby’s double-standard:
Your organization’s sole reason for existence is to murder birthrights. All of them. Because you kill babies. Maybe sit this one out. https://t.co/Vc9ar40rwG

But killing the kids – that’s totally cool. ♂️ https://t.co/3r0gU8dcNw

Planned Parenthood is lamenting about a Policy that might end birthright citizenship when they literally prevent the birth of 300,000 babies each year.
Hypocrisy on steroids.

Trump should respond: Alright let's agree on #BirthRightCitizenship. You first. https://t.co/zQNKY1Y9LF

The LensCrafters of big abortion talking about “birthright” …
While Planned Parenthood reportedly kills 800 black babies a day and encourages white women to abort, they are advocating for anchor babies.
What do YOU think about this? #BirthTourism #BirthrightCitizens https://t.co/5u3M2DBESE

Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and pro-abortion leaders like Hillary Clinton invited similar objections in June and July when they accused the Trump administration of inhumanely treating families who illegally crossed the southern border by temporarily holding parents and children in separate facilities for the duration of criminal proceedings.
