FORT WORTH, TX, November 21, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – After years of work and $6.5 million in private donations, Texas’ newest Planned Parenthood clinic has opened in Fort Worth.

Planned Parenthood Southwest Fort Worth Health Center is a licensed ambulatory center whose services include abortion and other “family planning” services.

In an ironic twist, the new abortion facility is located next to an adoption center. The address of the clinic is 6464 John Ryan Drive, and the Gladney Center for Adoption is located at 6300 John Ryan Drive.

Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards, the daughter of former Texas Governor Ann Richards, was present for an official ribbon cutting over the weekend. The new office opened earlier this year.

The multimillion dollar complex is the second Planned Parenthood to open or reopen in as many weeks. Richards also celebrated the reopening of a Planned Parenthood office in the city of Mission, Texas, which went back into business thanks to a $200,000 grant from the Obama administration.

Due to medical requirements in HB2, the pro-life Texas law signed by Texas Governor Rick Perry earlier this year, approximately one-third of abortion clinics in Texas are expected to close.

Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas did not respond to requests for comment.
