HAMILTON, ON, June 1 ( – Planned Parenthood’s Bagshaw clinic in downtown Hamilton has recently had their funding cut by $20,000. Hamilton-Wentworth also cut the clinic’s funding last year from $387,000 down to $187,000 also citing community concerns that the clinic was pushing abortion.

Lynne Scime of Hamilton-Wentworth Family Action Council told LifeSite that the clinic asks for so much money – and has so few clients – that it costs $47.50 (paid by taxpayers) for every person that visits the clinic – even if that individual does nothing more than pick up a condom off the shelf. Scime notes that a visit to a doctor’s office is only billed at $16.50.

Another concern Scime expressed about the clinic is that while only doctors and pharmacists are authorized by law to distribute contraceptive drugs, no pharmacists are employed by the clinic and contraceptives are prescribed by the doctors for patients they have never seen.
