December 15, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) – Apologists for abortion-on-demand long said they wanted abortion to be “safe, legal, and rare.” But Planned Parenthood just blew a hole in that slogan with a message it sent out on Twitter.

On Sunday, Planned Parenthood tweeted:

“With a single tweet, Planned Parenthood accidentally told us the truth,” said Congresswoman Diane Black, R-TN. “They effectively admitted that the abortion lobby's mantra of 'safe, legal, and rare' abortion is a lie and that the organization's real mission is to encourage more elective abortions funded off the backs of taxpayers.”

The Twitter message links to an article on the website Fusion by Rosie J. Spinks, who writes about her experience as an American citizen living in the UK. She recorded her joy when a nurse practitioner from the National Health Service (NHS) “handed me a year’s worth of birth control in a brown paper bag, also completely free.”

The experience helped turn her against her home country.

“As a feminist and an American citizen, I’ve always been infuriated by conservative lawmakers’ fixation on legislating my vagina,” Spinks wrote. “Now, as a British citizen who has spent the last five years getting acquainted with this nation’s government-funded National Health Service (NHS), I’m baffled by it, too. Having lived in a country where reproductive health care—including abortions—is free, accessible, and far less politicized, it’s never been clearer to me just how regressive the U.S really is.”

The tone of the abortion movement has shifted from the days when Bill Clinton campaigned for president as “not pro-abortion” but “pro-choice, strongly.” The feminist blogosphere celebrated the 2013 “Abortion Rights Freedom Rides” led by the Revolutionary Communist Party, with its slogan, “Abortion on demand and without apology.”

“What else would we expect from an organization that calls the destruction of an unborn life 'healthcare' and that allows aborted babies to be disposed of in landfills?” Rep. Black asked.

Congresswoman Black continued, “The contrast between the pro-abortion and the pro-life points of view has never been more clear. While Planned Parenthood invites its supporters to imagine a future of 'free and plentiful' abortion – because apparently the loss of more than 327,000 unborn babies a year just isn't enough – we in the pro-life movement invite Americans to believe in a country where every life is cherished and where every child is given a chance to see the light of day.”

“We must not stand for this barbarity,” Rep. Black said. “With the Senate having recently passed a reconciliation bill to reallocate Planned Parenthood's funding, every Senator who voted against this measure should be forced to square their vote with this appalling statement.”
