PERTH AMBOY, New Jersey, February 2, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Planned Parenthood clinic manager caught on videotape aiding a “pimp” in running an illegal sex-trafficking business exploiting underage foreign girls has been fired within a day of the video exposé‘s release.
An undercover video by the pro-life group Live Action released Tuesday showed a Planned Parenthood clinic manager coaching investigators at a New Jersey clinic disguised as a pimp and a prostitute how to obtain STD testing, birth control, and abortions for prostitutes as young as 14, and how to keep their underage sex trafficking business secret.
On Tuesday night, Planned Parenthood Central New Jersey CEO Phyllis Kinsler told the press that the manager had been fired. “We were profoundly shocked when we viewed the videotape this morning, which depicted an employee of one of our health centers behaving in a repugnant manner that is inconsistent with our standards of care and is completely unacceptable,” she said.
Hours earlier, both the national and state offices of Planned Parenthood had called the behavior portrayed on the video a violation of their policies.
Planned Parenthood also claimed that the manager had reported the incident to Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey the same day of the actors’ visit. “As soon as these visits were over, Planned Parenthood employees immediately reported to Planned Parenthood management,” said Stuart Schear, Vice President for Communications for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
About a week before the video was released, Planned Parenthood had told the Associated Press that it had learned of several encounters with illegal sex traffickers within a week. The abortion group said that after reporting the incidents, they came to suspect that the visitors were investigators with Live Action, which has launched sting operations against the organization in the past.
New Jersey Attorney General Paula Dow also released a statement on the video Tuesday evening saying, “At first glance, I find these allegations to be very disturbing.” Dow has asked the Division of Criminal Justice to investigate the matter.
Live Action president Lila Rose called the firing evidence that Planned Parenthood is “coming to the realization that they have a serious problem brewing.” Rose, 22, said that more footage will soon be released “showing that Planned Parenthood is willing to aid and abet sexual exploitation of minors and young women.”
“As our research and evidence will show, this is not only a problem for one clinic in New Jersey — it is much broader and more endemic,” she said.
