GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan, September 10, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) — A community college's effort to stay out of the debate on sexual morality has left a Planned Parenthood employee miffed.

“I’ve got several boxes (of condoms) and nobody to give them to,” Kym Duursma, Senior Education Specialist at Planned Parenthood told The Collegiate, which is the student newspaper for Grand Rapids Community College.

According to the paper, Duursma was invited to speak to students on sexual assault during Club Day. A substitute for an unexpectedly ill representative for the city's health department, Duursma expected to be able to give students condoms at her booth.

Assistant Director of Student Life and Conduct Evan Macklin said that while Planned Parenthood attended “as…a community resource,” the campus wanted to avoid taking sides on what students should be doing in terms of sexual activity.

A college police officer was next to Duursma's booth during the duration of her stay to enforce the policy. Police gave the condoms to a LGBT group on campus.

LifeSiteNews attempted to reach Macklin to ask about the campus' policy, but a voice message was not immediately returned.
