November 29, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) – The Georgia Congressman who President-elect Donald Trump has chosen to be his Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) is a “direct threat” to the abortion lobby's agenda, Planned Parenthood said in a distressed email to supporters on Tuesday.

“Rep. [Tom] Price has a 0% rating — yes, 0% — from Planned Parenthood Action Fund,” the abortion company's executive vice president Dawn Laguens wrote. “He's voted against women's health and reproductive rights at least 30 times — against the Affordable Care Act, against funding for Planned Parenthood health centers, and against the right to access safe, legal abortion. Time and time again, Rep. Price has proven himself to be a direct threat to women's health and rights.”

“His record strongly suggests” he won't “protect and expand access to care,” a euphemism for abortion, Laguens continued.

Price has a 100% pro-life voting record and has said “there is nothing more fundamental to our humanity than to defend life” and that it is our “solemn duty to protect and defend the lives of the most innocent among us.”

He said that the effort to defund Planned Parenthood is “about common, human decency” given the abortion giant's “barbaric” baby body parts trafficking scandal.

Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards warned in a tweet that Price “wants to undo the progress we've made” providing women with “free” birth control, often at the expense of their employers' religious beliefs.

“We see a disturbing trend in Trump’s administration: Its leadership is shaping up to be anti-abortion, and it’s antithetical to everything Planned Parenthood and its supporters stand for,” according to an alarmed blog posted on the abortion business's political site. Price has repeatedly voted to “restrict abortion access,” “prevent medical students from being trained on how to provide abortion,” “block insurance coverage of abortion,” “repeal the Affordable Care Act,” and “allow bosses to deny birth control coverage.”

“Tom Price has served in Congress for 11 years and has not cast a single pro-choice vote,” NARAL Pro-Choice America complained.
