OTTAWA, Feb 21, 2001 (LSN.ca) – In a survey whose results are aimed at Health Canada and other professional organizations, it was reported that 62% of Canadians supported using stem cells from human embryos to produce human organs. The survey, which polled approximately 2,600 Canadians aged 15 and older, found a vast majority of respondents disagreed with human reproductive cloning. However, the PricewaterhouseCoopers poll, with a margin of error of 1.8 percentage points 19 times out of 20, found that 60% supported using human embryos for research.
