VATICAN, June 18, 2001 (LSN.ca) – In an address given today by Pope John Paul II to the International Congress of Catholic Obstetricians and Gynaecologists the pope outlined the immense challenge faced by physicians who wish to practice medicine ethically. He urged doctors to practice conscientious objection, refusing to administer unethical treatments, reminding them that “it is never licit to cooperate formally in evil.”
