KITCHENER, ON, Nov 15 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Norman Eby, a trustee with the Waterloo Region District School Board has alerted parents that a theatrical play, sponsored by Planned Parenthood and being shown in high schools and senior elementary schools, should be banned for its “pornography and profanity.”  Eby is asking that the play “Live Onstage Uncensored” be banned from all the board’s schools.

He described one scene where “they take a Playboy centrefold and turn it around and show the audience” and another where “In the play the guys do a strip show for the girls and drop their pants. They have towels underneath, but what educational purpose does that serve other than to get kids aroused?”

The Toronto Star reports that the play has been touring part of Ontario, Quebec, the U.S. and Switzerland since 1992 and this year is booked at 19 schools. The play is performed by drama students from Elmira District Secondary School in Elmira Ontario and according to the school’s website, is playing at the school on Jan 12 and 17. Planned Parenthood explains that the hour-long play “deals with peer pressure, date rape, contraception, AIDS, abstinence and unplanned pregnancy, and sends a message to think before you act.”
