Bush said “I applaud the Senate for joining the House in passing the ban on partial-birth abortion.”  He promised to sign the legislation and also said he saw it as a step in building the culture of life.  “This is very important legislation that will end an abhorrent practice and continue to build a culture of life in America,” he said.  “I look forward to signing it into law.”  See the statement from the White House website:
