WASHINGTON (Nov.3, 2003)—The White House announced on October 31 that President Bush will sign the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act into law on Wednesday, November 5. On the same day several organizations opposed to the bill filed motions in various federal courts to seek to block the ban from going into effect.

Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), commented, “Just in time for Halloween, these groups argue that Roe v. Wade guarantees the right to deliver most of a living premature infant, in the fifth and sixth months of pregnancy, and then shove scissors through her skull.  They are tearing the mask off of Roe v. Wade and showing its true face, which is even worse than the mask.”  See coverage of the pro-abortion groups filing:  https://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/7165550.htm
