BARCELONA, Spain, May 27, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The headquarters of a Christian group in Spain known as E-Cristans was recently plastered with spray paint reading “Free Abortion.”

The vandalism comes after a similar attack on the brand new church for the parish, San Fransisco de Paula, where vandals spray painted “Abortion = Right not a Crime.”  Both attacks left numerous splotches of paint on the facades of the buildings.

In response to the attack, the parish responded, saying, “Our community has fought hard to have our new church and has never hurt anyone, so I hope that justice and order will catch those responsible.”  E-Cristians also denounced the graffiti as “coercive practices that seek to prevent the right to express opinions.”

The attacks come as the government of Spain is attempting to loosen its restrictions on abortion. The new law that will permit abortion on demand during the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
