SEATTLE, Oct 26 (LSN) – Campaign Life Coalition BC has learned, through an Internet news discussion group, that a “pro-choice” advocate is seeking retribution against pro-lifers for the recent shooting of an abortionist in New York.  The discussion group entitled “alt.abortion.inequity” has several threads from someone named “Hick” in the Seattle area. On one thread he asks for information on Seattle area anti-abortionist organizations.  He states, “I am going to avenge this one: an eye for an eye!” Another message states: “let’s kill the anti-abortionists! Anyone care to join me?” In a third statement the individual claims, “It’s time to hunt you down and make you pay!”  The police are generally careful not to allege that the murderer is a pro-lifer since the link with abortion has yet to be established as a point of fact. Nevertheless, almost without exception, media reports presuppose that the offender is “pro-life.” If the media is the source of this individual’s belief that the killer is a “pro-life activist,” serious questions need to be asked about the media’s role in exacerbating tensions between pro-lifers and pro-abortionists.  “It appears that the relentless media blaming of pro-lifers for the shootings has started the inevitable trail of vengeance and retribution by pro-choice activists,” says CLC BC President John Hof. “We demand a full investigation of these threats against us and call for the pro-choice movement to distance themselves from the fanatics in their group who make these vile threats.”
