HOLLYWOOD, Mar 30 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Pro-life groups have reacted with outrage to the Academy Award ceremonies last weekend which awarded the pro-abortion film Cider House Rules with Oscars for best screenplay-adaptation (John Irving) and best actor in a supporting role (Michael Caine).  Rock For Life, a youth division of American Life League said the ceremonies paid homage not only to Irving and Caine but also to “the senseless and brutal killing of children.”

Rock For Life co-director Tina Whittington said, “Caine, whose character surgically mutliates and destroys babies and then has them dumped into a furnace, said his character, the abortionist, was the most compassionate creature he’d ever played.”

“As usual, the victims of abortion-murdered children-are forgotten. The abortionist is hailed as the compassionate hero while another member of Generation Y is brutally murdered under the guise of so-called choice,” said Whittington.

At the ceremonies Irving thanked Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider,  and the National Abortion Rights Action League for their support.
