TORONTO, Aug 24 (LSN) – The Canadian Family Action Coalition (CFAC) urged pro-family advocates last week to increase their lobbying efforts to their local Members of Parliament to protest the federally funded survey of practicing homosexuals being undertaken by the extremist group EGALE (Equality for Gays And Lesbians Everywhere). CFAC says that the government is looking for evidence of discrimination and violence against gays and lesbians in order to justify their “so-called ‘hate crimes’ legislation.”  CFAC charges that the government has all but assured that they will get the results they are looking for by allowing EGALE to perform the survey.  National Affairs Director Peter Stock says “CFAC opposes the government funding to EGALE for the same reasons that funding to any special interest to study itself should be opposed. Would a study of the health effects of smoking conducted by the cigarette manufacturers themselves be considered credible?  The credibility of such studies is non-existent.”  The survey is expected to cost at least double the $185,000 already spent. CFAC encourages Canadians to request a copy of the survey to open their eyes as to how it is being conducted. You can call EGALE’s toll free number to request a copy. Call 1-888-204-7777, then press “1” when the answering message comes on. Then leave you address.  For more information contact Peter Stock National Affairs Director Canada Family Action Coalition [email protected] (613) 230-8542
