SURREY, BC, Nov 22 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Parents and citizens in Surrey, British Columbia have resoundingly supported their pro-family slate of Surrey School Board members. During a municipal election Saturday, voters continued support for the current school board members who faced severe criticism from homosexualist advocates for banning three books designed specifically to indoctrinate children with the notion that practicing homosexual households are morally equivalent to normal families. The board also opposes Planned Parenthood, instead promoting Chastity/Abstinence Sexual Health Education.

The Surrey Teachers Association (STA) took the School Board to court to maintain the right to provide kindergarten and grade-one children with pro-homosexual books. Last December LifeSite reported that the BC Supreme Court ruled in favour of the STA. While the ruling did not force the school to approve the books, it nullified the validity for the board’s refusal to ban them. The board has appealed the decision.

Revealingly, the pro-family board was re-elected despite STA support for other candidates who wanted to allow the homosexuality-promoting books in the classroom.
