(LifeSiteNews) – Dissident Jesuit priest Fr. James Martin has taken to social media to slate a bishop in South Dakota for releasing a set of pastoral guidelines defending the faith against the radical LGBT agenda.

Quoting Bishop Donald DeGrood of the Diocese of Sioux Falls’ pastoral guidelines which ban Catholic students from advocating, celebrating and expressing “same-sex attraction” and transgenderism, Martin said “people should be able to, and encouraged to, ‘celebrate’ who they are and, more importantly, how God made them, including LGBTQ people.”

“This is an essential part of a healthy spirituality for anyone,” added the priest in his series of posts on Tuesday. “This is crucial for young people, and especially for LGBTQ youth, who feel, thanks to statements like the one above, ignored, rejected, condemned, marginalized and completely unwelcome in their own church.”

Continuing, Martin rebuked the idea that we always “have to call out sin” by saying, “But where is the sin in a young person who is in no sexual relationship, and is far too young to even contemplate marriage, to say, even publicly, ‘God made me this way [homosexual] and I am good?’”

Part of Bishop DeGrood’s guidelines include a statement saying the proper Catholic term for “homosexuality” is “same-sex attraction,” to which Martin claims that “communities have the right to name themselves…To use outdated and offensive terms like ‘same-sex attraction’ is the opposite of the ‘respect’ that the Catechism calls for.”

“To persist in using outmoded terms is disrespectful,” he wrote. “Besides, the Vatican, the Synod of Bishops, and various cardinals and bishops, have been using [the term] ‘LGBT’ for some time…”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's flippant disregard for the unborn has reached a new low amid her unfounded claims about abortion restrictions — all while claiming to be a Catholic.

Now, Speaker Pelosi has ventured into the absurd, ironically labelling the pro-life movement's goal of restricting abortions and saving the unborn as "sinful."

LifeSiteNews reported the full event that brought about her comments:

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has once again criticized the pro-life movement, calling its efforts to save unborn babies “sinful.”

Pelosi made the remarks during a “roundtable discussion,” which took place at the University of California in San Francisco to mark “Women’s Equality Day” last Friday.

“The fact that this is such an assault [sic] on women of color and…lower income families is just sinful. It’s sinful,” Pelosi said about abortion restrictions.

Speaker Pelosi's moral compass has been inverted, accusing the pro-life movement an offense to God.

It is "sinful," according to Pelosi, that we defend life in the womb.

It is "sinful," according to Pelosi, that we protect young, vulnerable, and desperate women from the pain and remorse that follows abortion.

It is "sinful," according to Pelosi, that we protect the least among us — the unborn — by finally abolishing the abortion industry.

Pelosi is completely backwards, having clearly lost sight of the truly sinful and horrendous act of abortion.

Send a clear message to Speaker Nancy Pelosi: Catholics demand an apology for her perverse comments calling the pro-life movement's goal of abolishing abortion "sinful."

SIGN OUR PETITION DEMANDING A FULL APOLOGY NOW.

"We the undersigned demand a public apology, and await your public retraction of such a wild accusation."

P.S. — Nancy Pelosi has gotten away with using her faith as a shield for the most terrible leftwing policies, including abortion. By raising your voice with us, we will send a clear message that she can no longer use Christianity as cover for her disgusting far-left plans!

While it is true that a growing number of dissident clergymen – including bishops and cardinals – continue to obfuscate the Church’s infallible teaching on homosexuality and transgenderism, the truth remains that the Catechism of the Catholic Church plainly states that same-sex attraction “is objectively disordered” while stressing that God creates every human person male or female.

“Each of them, man and woman, should acknowledge and accept his sexual identity,” the Catechism insists.

Martin – who was just re-appointed by Pope Francis to another five-year term as a consultor for the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communication – has a long history of making heretical and disturbing statements.

Earlier this year, Martin went so far as referring to God as “Her,” while attacking the male concept of God as evidence of “damaging… patriarchal cultures.”

Martin has also made statements that appear to minimize the gravely immoral nature of early-term abortion and the administration of transgender puberty blockers to children.
