MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) — Despite clear Church teaching on the matter, an Ontario Catholic teachers association has condemned the pro-family Million Person March, a protest movement against LGBT indoctrination in Canadian schools.

In a September 18 email shared with LifeSiteNews, Jessica Jakab, acting president of the Dufferin-Peel Secondary Unit (DPSU) of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association, told teachers not to attend the pro-family protests but rather to join counter-protests to signal their support for the dangerous LGBT agenda.

“We want to make you aware of several protests that are planned by the same organization that staged several protests across Canada under the guise of protecting children,” Jakab wrote.

“As you are no doubt aware, the organizers of the 1MillionMarch4Children claim that the protests are about protecting children and promoting ‘parental rights,'” she continued. “The real agenda here is an attack on AIDE initiatives in our schools, including supportive curricula for 2SLGBTQIA+ students, parents, families and school staff.”

“Specifically, these groups are taking direct aim at Trans [sic] students and youth, their families and the supports available to them,” she added.

Despite the DPSU’s supposedly Catholic identity, the Church unchangeably condemns all homosexual activity and rejection of biological identity as gravely sinful. Moreover, the Church has always taught that true support and love for those struggling with sin involves making clear Catholic teaching to bring them to the truth.

Jakab continued to encourage teachers to participate in counter-protests, echoing a directive from the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) which condemned the Million Person March as “hateful.”

In an email shared with LifeSiteNews, the OPSEU called for “members and friends to once again show up for the 2SLGBTQ+ community this Friday, September 20th to counter insidious misinformation and hate with a message of radical love and acceptance.”

“This hateful movement once again plans to threaten the safety of our communities and the well-being of transgender [sic] children and youth,” the directive continued. “Their goal is nothing other than to intimidate and instill fear in us, to mislead Canadians, and to make Canada less safe for Queer and transgender [sic] people of all ages.”

The outrage among the school system toward the Million Person March is hardly surprising. Many Ontario school boards have policies requiring teachers and staff keep parents in the dark if their children begin to suffer from gender confusion, including the York Region District School Board, Thames Valley District School Board, and the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board among others.

Today, September 20, the second annual Million Person March for Children is taking place in cities across Canada, as parents and children take to the streets to fight back against LGBT indoctrination in schools.

“We refuse to stand by while the Government and School system allow sexually explicit content and gender ideology to be distributed in our classrooms,” says Hands Off Our Kids, the group organizing the nationwide event.
