TORONTO, June 18, 2002 (LSN.ca) – TV evangelist David Mainse, the Ottawa Valley-born founder, host and mainstay of the popular Christian show 100 Huntley Street, celebrated the 40th anniversary of his Crossroads television ministry this year. Next weekend he will mark the 25th anniversary of the worldwide version of the show.

Mainse has been renowned for his unapologetic pro-life stance on the airwaves. “There are no pastel shades of sin,” he told journalist Michael Valpy. “Anything outside a sexual relationship in marriage is a sin. Sin is sin. Don’t expect me to say that something like taking the life of a little one in the womb isn’t sin.”“His theology is orthodox Pentecostalism,” writes Valpy. “He is ecumenically respected, politically unpigeonholed, unflamboyant, unflashy, and the closest he has come to a brouhaha is being sued for libel by a witch.”
