OTTAWA, Dec 17 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Fr. Tony Van Hee, a pro-life Catholic priest who since September 1989 has quietly and peacefully picketed, prayed and fasted outside the Canadian parliament buildings in Ottawa, was harassed Tuesday Dec. 7 by gay MP Svend Robinson, a politician known for his aggressive defence of euthanasia and homosexuality.

LifeSite has learned that Robinson confronted Fr. Van Hee demanding five times that he remove one of his signs, after each demand Fr. Van Hee responded “are you going to face the truth?”.

Robinson then proceeded to take the sign and attempted unsuccessfully to break it, and then threw it away.

Federal police (RCMP) who witnessed the incident asked Fr. Van Hee if he wished to press charges.

LifeSite will bring you more as the story unfolds.

In related news, RCMP officers were yesterday photographing Fr. Van Hee’s signs and it is rumored that Robinson has requested parliamentary officials to see to the removal of the long-time pro-life activist from the Hill.
