OAK PARK, IL, May 28, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The woman who seeks to reopen George Tiller's late-term abortion facility in Kansas has faced the second protest in a month outside her Chicago-area “wellness” center.

Dr. Cheryl Chastine told a member of Operation Rescue, “I had been hoping not to be mentioned by name,” shortly after being listed as the new owner of South Wind Women’s Center in Wichita.

Troy Newman of Operation Rescue first revealed the Oak Park connection between the two clinics. Dr. Tiller's practice of aborting extreme late-term babies made the facility a national byword, and local residents have shown little interest in seeing it back in operation.

Eric Scheidler, of the Pro-Life Action League organized the protest outside her practice, Total Wellness Inc. in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park, Illinois.

The group held a similar protest last month, with Scheidler, Jill Stanek, and dozens of pro-life activists in attendance.

This time, once again, they held graphic images to alert her customers to the fact that Dr. Chastine provides another “medical” service in Kansas that they believe is incompatible with wellness.

Chastine's practice emphasizes natural forms of healing, but abortion is “without exception the most unnatural thing that could be done to a body,” Scheidler said, “to destroy your offspring and do so deliberately.”

Scheidler said protesters saw someone who may have been the doctor complaining to local police in an effort to break up the demonstration.

“She made a rude gesture to one of our staff members,” Scheidler told LifeSiteNews.com. “She looked a lot like Dr. Chastine. We thought it might be her. She said she was a drug rep.”

He said Oak Park police declined “to disperse a legally assembled crowd.”

Chastine, 31, graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 2009. Scheidler hopes her commitment to healing will cause her to turn away from providing abortion-on-demand.

“We're praying for her,” Scheidler told LifeSiteNews. “We really do want what's best for Dr. Chastine, which is to use her skills as a physican to heal and not to kill.”

Meanwhile, he is gearing up for another, larger event tomorrow. The Pro-Life Action League will protest a Democratic Party fundraiser – featuring Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi – in Chicago on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Central time at the Chicago Hilton and Towers, located at 720 S. Michigan Avenue.

Once again, protesters will have graphic images at hand to confront the president and House Minority Leader.
