PRO-LIFE STUDENTS ATTACKED AT UBC PRO-LIFE DISPLAY

VANCOUVER, Nov 24 (LSN.ca) – Pro-life students were attacked yesterday as they stood peacefully beside their display tables at the University of British Columbia. The Pro-life students were participating in a University approved display when three students came up to the tables and began to tear the posters and shred the literature, demolishing the presentation. The violence was all captured on video tape and has been given to police. Charges are pending.

One of the perpetrators was Erin Kaiser, the head of UBC Student’s for Choice. LifeSite has learned that despite receiving approval for their display and assurances of security coverage, not one security person was present when the violence occurred.

UBC Students For Life were putting on an informational display on campus consisting of signs and posters that compared abortion with other forms of genocide like slavery and the Holocaust. The display was also in protest of the university’s restriction on pro-life free speech.

The pro-life Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) was effectively banned from campus when UBC placed impossible restrictions on the presenting group, the Center for Bio-ethical Reform, which had been invited to campus by the students. They were told to pay an incredible $10,000 per day for security costs plus an exorbitant $5000 deposit for damage that might be done by persons opposing their exhibit. The presentation was also moved from a main concourse to a remote sports field.
