HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA, June 13, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com)—Life Issues Institute is pleased to announce that its weekly pro-life television program, Facing Life Head-On, has earned three Regional Emmy® Award nominations. The show was nominated by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for excellence in a program series or special in both the military program and magazine program categories.

Brad Mattes, host and executive producer of the program feels honored by the prestigious recognition it has received. “We are thrilled to be considered by the Academy. It’s a joy to produce a pro-life television program that is not only compelling and inspirational to our viewers, but also considered award-worthy by this celebrated organization within the media industry.”

Three episodes were nominated; including a two-part series entitled A Lifetime Sacrifice. This patriotic program shares the tragic and triumphant stories of American soldiers and their families who have sacrificed for our country’s freedoms. The episode entitled A Life Full of Potential explores the life of Patrick Henry Hughes, a man who has overcome significant physical disabilities such as blindness and the inability to walk, to excel as a musician. In addition, A Crowing Achievement was nominated for its touching account of two teenagers with Down syndrome who were embraced by their classmates and selected as king and queen at their high school prom.

Produced in Cincinnati, Ohio, Facing Life Head-On is a 30-minute news magazine style program broadcasted to over 100 million homes on various television networks. Fusing education with entertainment, the show promotes the value of innocent human life at all stages. The broadcast covers life-affirming topics such as adoption, disabilities, abortion, stem cell treatments, medical technologies and end-of-life care. In 2010, Facing Life Head-On received the Regional Emmy® in the category of interview and discussion programs.
