SAN FRANCISCO, CA, January 25, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – “The issue of life cannot be viewed as an annual event, but a daily calling,” said Bishop Thomas Daly of San Jose, during a vigil mass before the Walk for Life West Coast.
Over 200 locals and pilgrims in town for the Walk for Life gathered on Friday night for the mass at Star of the Sea Catholic Church. The mas was celebrated by Bishop Daly and was organized by The Sisters of Life of New York.
Several religious orders and seminarians from the Archdiocese of San Francisco were in attendance alongside a youthful congregation. Attendees prayed for the success of the Walk for Life and for the conversion of the people of the San Francisco area, the nation, and the world.
In his homily, Bishop Daly exhorted the pro-life pilgrims to continue their mission with “joyful hope” because, he said, “truth will always win and life will always be victorious.”
Organizers estimate that this year's Walk for Life attracted 50,000 participants.
