August 27, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – On August 11, over 25 young people from colleges around the country met in Washington, DC to finish their 3 simultaneous cross-country walks across America. With a group called Crossroads, these volunteers spent their summer passing through 36 states, hundreds of towns and cities, and walking over 9,000 miles collectively during their 12 week long trek.

To mark the end of their journey, the members of Crossroads attended a Mass followed by a Rosary Procession to a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic that is just a short distance from the US Capitol Building. The Mass and Rosary Procession are sponsored by the Archdiocese of Washington and the Crossroads teams will be in attendance to conclude their 24th annual walks across America.

“The mission of Crossroads is to follow Pope St. John Paul II's call to the youth of the world to build a Culture of Life” said James Nolan, President of Crossroads. “Throughout the past 12 weeks, meeting tens of thousands of people at the grass-roots level, our volunteers have realized first hand that America truly is a Pro-Life country” continued Nolan. “As a nation, I believe we are more and more choosing life and rejecting abortion. Young people are no longer buying wholesale into the lies of the Culture of Death and are opening their eyes to the fact that unborn baby boys and girls in the womb deserve respect and protection.” concluded Nolan.

Since 1995, Crossroads has organized these 12 week long walks across America from the West Coast to Washington, D.C., to actively take part in building a Culture of Life. During their journey, the volunteers wear t-shirts that say “PRO-LIFE” in bold letters on the front while engaging people at the grass-roots level. Throughout the summer, they speak at churches and engage local communities through their peaceful and prayerful witness to the dignity and sanctity of all human life, from the very beginning in the womb until natural death. They also counsel women that are in crisis pregnancies to help them find the support they need to choose life for their unborn child.
