PRO-LIFERS FORCE HOSPITAL TO WITHDRAW ABORTION OPENING

CLARKSBURG, W. Va., January 15, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The United Hospital Center board has been forced by public outcry to back down on a bylaw amendment to clear the way for medically unjustified abortions.  “Our policy will remain the same. We will not perform abortions, even in the very rare case where a lethal fetal abnormality exists,” said a disappointed UHC President Bruce Carter. “We respect the community’s values on this issue from a philosophical and religious standpoint, and the board has voted accordingly.”  Previously, on Dec. 17, the board voted 8 to 7 to pave the way for abortion on demand.
