CLARKSBURG, W. Va., January 15, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The United Hospital Center board has been forced by public outcry to back down on a bylaw amendment to clear the way for medically unjustified abortions.  “Our policy will remain the same. We will not perform abortions, even in the very rare case where a lethal fetal abnormality exists,” said a disappointed UHC President Bruce Carter. “We respect the community’s values on this issue from a philosophical and religious standpoint, and the board has voted accordingly.”  Previously, on Dec. 17, the board voted 8 to 7 to pave the way for abortion on demand. To effect the change, they began by slyly revising the bylaw to allow abortion in cases of “rare lethal fetal abnormality.”  (with files from Pro-Life E-News)  For local coverage see:  https://www.cpubco.com/cgi-bin/LiveIQue.acgi=13049cbgCurrentLocalNews?cbgCurrentLocalNews
