A few international media outlets are saying the UN feminist lobby is already admitting defeat in the face of strong pro-life lobbying at the Rome conference on the establishment of an International Criminal Court (ICC).  negotiations remain intense, however.  One area of concern is the definition of “persecution.” Under crimes against humanity, “persecution”  means the intentional and severe deprivation of fundamental rights contrary to international law by reason of the identity of the group or collectivity. LSN sources say this definition could be — and likely was intended to be — used as a vehicle for the homosexual lobby.  Also, the inclusion of crimes of sexual violence in the ICC charter is still under secret negotiations,  and the charter still includes the term “enforced pregnancy.” The feminists continue pushing to have the term included as a “crime against humanity” as well as a war crime. Including it in the “Crimes Against Humanity” section will make it enforceable outside situations of armed conflict, say LSN sources, and will therefore give the ICC authority to pressure all signatory nations to provide abortion on demand.
