MONTREAL, July 21 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The homosexual activist newspaper Gay Ottawa Now reports that a lesbian couple in Quebec has obtained official dual motherhood registration. The paper reports that Julie, 35, and Rachel 29 (the birth-mother), living in Western Quebec, applied for and received a birth certificate from Ontario (where the child was born) two weeks ago listing both women as the parents. Once the certificate was secured the pair insisted that the baby be registered under the last name of both women and that Julie would be listed as the boy’s second mother.

The paper reports that a worker from the Quebec family allowance department called to ask “is it all right that we label the cheque to one of you only, as we only send one cheque per family?”.

While the paper does not mention the last names of the women it does note that Julie works at Health Canada and is soon to be a lawyer and Rachel is a member of a federal minister’s office staff – a political assistant.
