The October 9 issues of Report magazine includes an article about the growth in “gay-straight alliance” groups in B.C. schools, discussing the concern many people have about the possibility of these groups being used as vehicles recruitment of students into homosexuality.
Homosexual activists, hiding under the veil of the claim that homosexuality is a genetic trait and, therefore, not something people can adopt or reject, are recruiting people into the destructive behaviour, say some critics, including K-John Cheung of the Canadian Alliance for Social Justice and Family Values. Lending credibility to recruitment fears, Vancouver Sun columnist, college philosophy instructor and leading B.C. homosexual rights advocate, Stan Persky, is cited in the Report magazine as having said that “rather than arguing about whether ‘promotion’ is involved, I think gays ought to spend their energy on the issue of whether there’s anything wrong with promotion and recruitment.”
