Dear Friend,

I don't like doing this, but I have to issue a red alert!

With just 6 days left in our summer campaign we are only one-fifth of the way to our necessary goal of 5,000 donations!

While I am incredibly grateful to the stalwart 1,100 people who have donated, the hard truth is we’re simply not where we need to be at this point!

I have to be honest. The task ahead is more than daunting. And yet I know that we simply must make it to our goal, because the success of LifeSite for the next quarter depends on it!

It’s not just that we need to reach the 5,000 donations in order to qualify for that much-needed $50,000 matching gift.

It’s also that we absolutely must reach $200,000 in donations during the campaign, just to keep LifeSite going until our fall fundraiser! But so far, we have only raised just over $50,000.

And yet, I also know that we have come from even further behind in the past, and that with your help, and God’s grace, we CAN make it.

But before I continue, let me ask you a question…an important question.

What if I told you that LifeSiteNews was going to shut down?

That tomorrow you would stop receiving our news; that our journalists wouldn’t be there to report the truth about the latest abortion clinic closure, or that amazing new pro-life initiative, or that attack on a pro-life or pro-family leader…

….that if you came to our website tomorrow, you would find just a blank, white, empty screen.

What if?

To be 100% clear: this isn’t going to happen. We don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon! There’s WAY too much work to do.

But I’m asking you this question for a reason.

Because sometimes the best way to recognize how much something is worth, and how much we’re willing to sacrifice for it, is to imagine what the world would be like if it were gone.

Our donor relations team talks with countless readers each year who tell us they don’t know what they would do without the honest, hard-hitting, original reporting LifeSite provides.

I’m convinced that’s why LifeSite continues to grow, year after year – because readers like you see the fruits of our labors in concrete changes in the culture, and want to become a part of that change for good!

Think about it!

Without LifeSite, who would stand in the breach when the mainstream media lies and distorts, or simply ignores the latest story that exposes the Culture of Death for the empty, evil, destructive thing that it is?

And where else could you find the global, “big picture” perspective about this all-important battle between the Culture of Life and the Culture of Death?

Who else could you depend on to:

  •  Provide real-time coverage, from on-the-ground, at the WashingtonSan FranciscoOttawaRome, and other marches for life, which are usually completely ignored by other media?

  • Expose the growing instances of totalitarian threats to the religious freedom of everyday Christians who simply believe in the age-old definition of marriage?

  • Spend hours calling up and interviewing various officials, experts and spokespeople to find out the truth behind that story of how aborted babies were being incinerated to create electricity in Oregon…coverage that was featured on the Drudge Report, and which was instrumental in convincing the power facility to stop the grisly practice?

  • Bring together dozens of pro-life leaders from all around the world by organizing an international pro-life leaders’ conference in the heart of the Vatican, featuring pro-life hero Cardinal Raymond Burke?

  • Share the powerful and life-changing stories of men like Donny Pauling, a former Playboy porn producer who left everything to tell the uncomfortable truth about porn, and who is now writing a weekly column for LifeSite?

  • Reach nearly 2 million viewers with our story about Live Action’s undercover footage showing abortion counselors admitting that when a baby is born alive after an abortion, they “do not resuscitate” the babies?

And on and on. There are simply too many examples to cite!

You see, our readers know they can trust our team of trained journalists to spend long, grueling hours putting in the phone calls, attending the events on the ground, digging through the Internet, asking the hard questions, and doggedly pursuing the truth about stories that no one else will report on.

This is what your donation allows us to do!

Truly, LifeSiteNews is the only pro-life and pro-family news agency with a team of professional reporters with the training and experience to cover the issues that the mainstream media ignore…or completely distort.

I know I don’t have to tell you this! If you’ve been reading us for any time at all, you already know LifeSite provides something that nobody else does.

You already know the sometimes astonishing impact that LifeSite has had.  You already know how hard our staff work to expose the truth that others won’t.

You know all these things. And for your faithful dedication to our mission, we are incredibly grateful!

But now I’m asking you to imagine the world without all of that, without LifeSite. And if that thought strikes fear in your heart, as it does mine, I’m asking you to consider making a donation to our summer campaign today!

LifeSite is, and always has been, a team effort.

And readers like you are as integral a part of that team as our own staff! If everybody chips in just a little bit, we can reach that goal of 5,000 donors in no time at all.

For life and family,

John-Henry Westen

P.S. If we reach our goal of 5,000 donors by next Thursday, July 3, a generous couple has offered to donate an additional $50,000 to the campaign. So please, make a donation today! Click here.

P.P.S. If you are simply unable to donate financially to our campaign at this time, we do understand! But I ask you, in all sincerity, to keep the success of the campaign in your prayers. I truly mean that! Every morning at 9:30am EDT, we have an international conference call where all of our staff start the day by praying together for the success of the campaign, and for the guidance to do our work well. Prayer is at the heart of what we do. Your contribution in prayer is as real as any financial donation!
