REGINA, Sask., May 16, 2001 (LSN.ca) – On Monday, Bill Whatcott of the Christian Truth Activists, was charged with “Unlawfully distributing literature on University of Regina Property.”

Whatcott had been distributing literature at the University of Regina campus exposing the horror of abortion on demand. The literature contained a photo of a living pre-born child and a pre-born child who was killed by abortion

Whatcott was contacted by the University administration and was threatened with a lawsuit if he didn’t go back to the university to retrieve his literature. Believing the university action was a threat aimed at silencing an effective pro-life witness, Whatcott went back to deliver more literature. Campus police ordered him out of the student parking lot and took some of the literature out of the hands of two Oriental students who of their own free will accepted it.

The Regina city police arrived and charged Whatcott. Whatcott intends to fight for his right to free pro-life speech in court on June 18, 2001. The Christian Truth Activists will stage a demonstration against politically correct pro-abortion intolerance outside the Regina Provincial Courthouse 1815 Smith St. Monday, June. 18/ 2001 9:00 – 10:00 AM.
