December 5, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) – Two Republican congressmen have expressed their support of HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines after a Buzzfeed hit piece on their church questioned whether the couple believes in man-woman marriage.
Rep. Bill Flores, R-TX, and Rep. Warren Davidson, R-OH, tweeted their support of the couple.
Flores said “intolerant” people are attacking the Christian faith. Davidson called it the targeting of Christians for their beliefs.
I am supporting and praying for @chippergaines & @joannagaines as the intolerant attack our Christian faith. https://t.co/knEC7ZZhkY

This targeting of Christians for their beliefs needs to stop. https://t.co/LO90sOEx1m

Conservative writer Sean Davis pointed out that the author of the initial piece wondering what the Gaines couple believes about marriage tweeted less than a week ago her disgust at the Gaines' town of Waco, Texas for having voted for Donald Trump.
It sure looks like BuzzFeed's @KateAurthur chose to attack the Gaines because she was mad that most people in Waco, Texas, voted for Trump. pic.twitter.com/1Or2UnGrjk
