LOS ANGELES, January 27, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), has released the list of nominations for its annual media awards for movies, news and television shows which most promote homosexuality.

Films nominated include Beginners, starring Christopher Plummer and Ewan McGregor, Albert Nobbs, starring Glenn Close and Janet McTeer, and J. Edgar, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Armie Hammer,

Television shows nominated include Showtime’s Shameless, The Big C, and The Real L Word; ABC’s All My Children, Grey’s Anatomy, Pretty Little Liars, Happy Endings and Modern Family; other popular shows including Degrassi, Glee, and Days of Our Lives were also nominated.

News organizations deemed praiseworthy by homosexual activists include: Pioneer Press [St. Paul, Minn.], The Boston Globe, The New York Times, The Oregonian [Portland, Ore.], and The Salt Lake Tribune.  Magazines nominated for the award included Entertainment Weekly, People, Time and US Weekly.

Musicians recognized for promoting homosexuality included Beverly McClellan, and groups Fear Nothing, Girl in a Coma, Hunx and His Punx, Lady Gaga, and MEN.

Comic books nominated included Avengers: The Children’s Crusade, Batwoman, Secret Six, Veronica Presents, and X-Factor.

Major corporate sponsors for the award ceremonies include Rokk Vodka, Wells Fargo, Delta Air Lines, Prudential, Southwest Airlines, Anheuser-Busch, Inc., Comcast, IBM and Time Warner, Allstate Insurance Company, and AT&T.
