TAIPEI, Dec 6, 2000 (LSN.ca) – Taiwanese papers reported yesterday that the abortion pill RU-486 will be on the market soon. The Taipei Times reports that a recent survey of women by the Taiwan Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology revealed that 84 percent of the respondents said that the availability of RU486 was bound to lead to promiscuity. Ninety-three percent of the respondents agreed with the view that the use of RU486 should be restricted.

LifeSite reported in August that another poll showed 87 percent of Taiwanese teenagers believe abortion is equivalent to murder, although 54 percent said they would, nevertheless, consider having one.
