MOSCOW, October 1, 2001 (LSN.ca) – In an encouraging sign, LifeSite has learned that the Russian Orthodox Church has organized a pro-life conference in Moscow on November 26 called “Family and demography”. Priest Maxim Obukhov, director of pro-life center “Zhizn” Moscow, contacted LifeSite to announce that the conference organizers are inviting pro-life activists from all over Russia and ex-USSR countries.

Dr Jack Wilkie of International Right to Life and Ewa Kowalewsky, director of European bureau of Human Life International, are scheduled guests at the conference which will explore the spiritual roots of demographic depression in Russia and other European countries.
