SAN FRANCISCO, Wed Feb 23, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The list of guests of the annual Loaves and Fishes Fundraising dinner hosted by Catholic Charities of San Francisco (CCCYO) includes a number of local politicians in an honorary committee that California Catholic Daily reports are “completely and without exception actively opposed to the Church’s teaching on issues of life or the family.”

The honorary committee roster includes state Sen. S. Joseph Simitian, D-Palo Alto, who, according to Project VoteSmart, an organization that evaluates and publishes politicians’ support of various interest groups, has a 100% approval rating from NARAL-California, Planned Parenthood, and the homosexual lobby group Equality California.

U.S. Rep. Lynn Woolsey, D-Petaluma also has 100% ratings from NARAL and Planned Parenthood, and has expressed support for gay “marriage.”

State Sen. Leland Yee, D-San Francisco, also has a 100% approval rating from the homosexualist and abortion groups.

Another honorary committee member is the president of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, David Chiu, who according to SocialistWorker.org was part of a pro-abortion counter rally during the January 22 Walk for Life West Coast. “Protesters emphasized the fact that San Francisco is a pro-choice town, which was re-enforced by San Francisco Supervisor David Chiu, the first speaker at the rally,” SocialistWorker.org reported.

Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, D-San Francisco also has a 100% approval rating from NARAL, Planned Parenthood and Equality California.

Catholic Charities of San Francisco has long been criticized by faithful Catholics for its eagerness to cooperate with the homosexual movement, and according to California Catholic Daily, “has long ties to San Francisco’s homosexual power structure.”

“Assemblyman Ammiano’s involvement dates at least to 1997 and the forcing of CCCYO to pay benefits to the ‘domestic partners’ of its employees,” notes the Daily, “and Supervisor Dufty, a past ‘Loaves and Fishes’ honorary committee member, consulted with CCCYO in 2006 over the partnership with Family Builders by Adoption. That partnership resulted in CCCYO’s working to place adoptive children in homosexual households.”
