MADRID, Spain, Jan 6 (LifeSiteNews.com)  The January 1999 edition of Catholic World Report (CWR) reports that Satanism and associated human sacrifice is on the rise in Spain and throughout Europe. A study undertaken by the Spanish newspaper ABC noted the rise of such cult groups has netted them an estimated membership of 250,000 people involved in “devil worship.”

CWR says that the international law enforcement agency Interpol suggests that the number of ritual human sacrifices is on the rise across Europe, with “at least 100 in Europe in 1989 and 1990.”  Interestingly Spain has the lowest birth rate in Europe and a law introduced in 1985 by the country’s previous Socialist government permits the killing of pre-born children in cases of the mother’s physical or mental health,  rape, and a so-called deformed fetus. It seems the rise in satanic human sacrifice has come in with the encroaching culture of death.
