ICOSIA, October 10, 2001 (LSN.ca) – The renegade scientists who have once again announced plans to clone human beings appear to especially enjoy media attention. Reuters reported yesterday that Dr. Panayiotis Zavos and his Italian colleague, Severino Antinori announced that creation of cloned embryos will begin within months.

“It is going well enough so we may attempt the first production of embryos, cloned embryos in the very near future. That is, three or four months from now,” Cyprus-born Zavos told Reuters in an interview. However, LifeSite reported Aug. 20 that Zavos announced his go ahead would begin “within 60 days.”

The publicity hounds have taken every opportunity to incite media attention. At a National Academy of Sciences meeting on cloning, Antinori, called Pope John Paul II “criminal” for his opposition to human cloning.
