FLINT, MI, March 29, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Gene Forro is a faithful pro-lifer who, for years, had prayed and picketed in front of the Feminine Health Care Center in Flint, MI.  All that changed this past January when a clandestine personal protection order was filed against him – essentially forbidding him from being in the vicinity of the clinic.

However, on March 19, 2007, with the legal assistance of the Thomas More Law Center, Forro was successful in having the personal protection order terminated, allowing him to resume his pro-life activities outside the clinic.

According to a press release from the Thomas More Law Center, the personal protection order was filed by the director of the clinic with the claim that Forro was harassing her.  Forro contacted the Law Center seeking legal assistance to contest the order.

President and Chief Counsel for the Thomas More Law Center, Richard Thompson commented on the successful outcome of the case saying, “People in the abortion industry often use the court system to intimidate and silence pro-life advocates. Here, we are pleased we had the opportunity to successfully represent Mr. Forro and at no charge to him.”

Forro admitted he was happy about the final results, “I am glad I can continue my pro-life ministry.”

When asked to comment on the recent court order or if further legal action would be taken, the administration of the Feminine Health Care Center told LifeSiteNews.com that they had no comment.

According to their website, the Thomas More Law Center is a public interest law firm that is “dedicated to the defense and promotion of the religious freedom of Christians, time-honored family values and the sanctity of human life.”  They are located in Ann Arbor, MI but represent clients across the country.
