(LifeSiteNews) — Republican U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa last week released a long-awaited whistleblower document claiming that U.S. President Joe Biden and his scandal-ridden son Hunter engaged in a multimillion-dollar bribery scheme with a Ukrainian oil company while Joe Biden was vice president of the United States.
The allegations, made by an anonymous whistleblower, are recorded in an FBI FD-1023 form dated June 30, 2020, with source reporting from June 26, 2020. The document includes broad suggestions that the Bidens may have been paid millions of dollars to help broker the firing of a state prosecutor conducting a criminal investigation of now-defunct Ukrainian oil and gas company Burisma Holdings.
The release of the unclassified document comes after Grassley co-led a letter to the FBI demanding the release of the unredacted form.
“[Thanks] to whistleblowers now the world can see what [I’ve] seen [and] what the FBI tried to conceal,” Sen. Grassley tweeted Thursday. “Serious allegations from [a] trusted FBI source.”
“What did the FBI do to investigate????” he asked.

In the document, the unnamed Confidential Human Source (CHS) alleges that Burisma sought to extricate itself in 2015 from an investigation then underway by Ukraine prosecutor general Viktor Shokin.
As Burisma sought to secure a potential lucrative merger with a U.S.-based oil and gas company, Hunter Biden was allegedly given a position on Burisma’s board of directors in order to “protect us, through his dad, from all kinds of problems,” according to the document. The whistleblower said Burisma co-founder Mykola Zlochevsky told him that the younger Biden wasn’t intelligent but that he was kept on the board “so everything will be okay.”

According to the document, Zlochevsky also made a remark about $10 million in payouts in relation to the planned merger, with $5 million paid out to “one Biden” and another $5 million “to another Biden.”
The document states that “it was unclear to CHS whether these alleged payments were already made.”
However, Zlochevsky reportedly told the CHS that it was “too late to change his decision,” a statement the whistleblower interpreted as meaning that the Bidens had already been paid, “presumably ‘to deal with Shokin.”
According to the informant document, Burisma’s co-founder suggested he felt coerced to make the payments.
Biden would later publicly acknowledge that he threatened to withhold $1 billion in aid from Ukraine if they didn’t fire Shokin. Other reports claim that Biden involved himself in Shokin’s ouster because the Ukrainian prosecutor had failed to investigate corruption in the country.

After the release of the informant document, conservative politicians and commentators were quick to comment on the significant contents of the allegations that were made public last week. Some specifically called upon federal law enforcement officials to speak about the substance of the claims.
“It’s time to investigate these serious allegations of corruption,” reacted Republican U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee.
“Here’s a stunning document released by Chuck Grassley that everyone should read,” said up-and-coming Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
“Three obvious questions for Merrick Garland and the Department of Justice,” Ramaswamy continued. “Did you investigate these very credible accusations of bribery by Joe and Hunter Biden? Or did you ignore them altogether? If you replaced ‘Biden’ with ‘Trump’ in this same FD-1023, what would you have done?”

Breitbart noted that the dates listed on the document far predate the New York Post story about the Hunter Biden laptop, which contained troves of scandalous and incriminating photos and documents, including messages pertaining to his shady overseas business dealings in countries like Ukraine, Russia, and China. The laptop contained scores of emails and texts suggesting the Biden family made millions of dollars through Hunter’s facilitation of meetings between his father and business interests around the world.
Former intelligence officials in the immediate lead-up to the 2020 presidential election claimed that the authentic laptop was really Russian disinformation, potentially tilting the election in favor of Joe Biden.
President Biden has vehemently denied allegations of involvement in his son’s business dealings, despite the fact that evidence suggests he spoke to his son regarding his involvement with Chinese oil company CEFC on at least one occasion. Moreover, a message reportedly sent in 2017 by the younger Biden to a Chinese associate appeared to imply that Joe was directly involved in his son’s business affairs.
