COLORADO SPRINGS, November 8, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Colorado, Idaho, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin all approved bans on homosexual ‘marriage’ yesterday. Arizona, however, became the first state to vote down a constitutional ban on homosexual ‘marriage’.

Thus far, 27 states have approved such bans. Including the seven states listed above which approved the measure, the following states have approved the measure: Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Nebraska, Missouri, Michigan, North Dakota, Ohio¸ Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana¸ Arkansas¸ Georgia¸ Kentucky¸ Mississippi¸ Texas¸ and Alabama.

The successful marriage protection amendments won yesterday in Idaho, South Carolina, South Dakota, Virginia, and Wisconsin also included bans on homosexual civil unions which would grant homosexual couples all the rights and benefits of marriage.

In Colorado a second ballot issue which sought to legalize domestic partnerships giving homosexual couples the privileges of marriage failed.
