WASHINGTON, D.C., September 28, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Obama's “Safe-School Czar” Kevin Jennings has more than once proudly admitted that he ignored the homosexual statutory rape of a high-school sophomore in his care twenty one years ago, but now under public pressure he says he could have “handled the situation differently.”

Jennings is a co-founder of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), which targets children in public schools and classroom curricula to embrace homosexuality as a normative behavior. Key to their strategy, GLSEN leaders have said they specifically target children as young as kindergarten in order to begin a “saturation process,” that forms the imagination with positive impressions of the homosexual lifestyle, and so pre-cognitively influences the way a child perceives the world and makes judgments on what is right and wrong.

But Jennings, who has a history of uttering foulmouthed and bigoted statements against Christians and pro-family groups is in hot water, because he is on record admitting that as a 24 year-old teacher at Concord Academy in Massachusetts, he was informed of a homosexual relationship between a high school sophomore and an older man, and did not contact either the school administration or the police. Instead, Obama's “Safe Schools Czar's” chief concern at the time was making sure the 15 year-old boy wore a condom.

An audio-recording released by Warren Throckmorton, a psychology professor at Grove City College, reveals Jennings speaking to homosexual activists gathered at a 2000 GLSEN rally relating the tale a fifteen-year old student named “Brewster,” who told him that he was having a sexual relationship with an anonymous “older man,” whom the boy met in a bus station bathroom in Boston.

Jennings told the crowd, “High school sophomore, 15 years old. That was the only way he knew how to meet gay people.”

According to his narrative, Jennings told “Brewster” that his “best friend had just died of AIDS the week before” before looking at him to say “You know, I hope you knew how to wear a condom.”

However in Massachusetts the age of consent is 16 years, meaning that Jennings – the President's advisor for making policies that keep the nation's schools safe and drug free – failed in his obligation to report a crime.

Instead of making an apology, Jennings proposes that his mistake offers a learning experience that he can bring to the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools

“Twenty-one years later I can see how I should have handled the situation differently. I should have asked for more information and consulted legal or medical authorities. Teachers back then had little training and guidance about this kind of thing,” Jennings said in a statement released Wednesday. “All teachers should have a basic level of preparedness. I would like to see the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools play a bigger role in helping to prepare teachers.”

Peter LaBarbera, President of Americans for Truth credits poor-vetting practices on the part of the Obama Administration for Jennings getting the post and told LifeSiteNews.com that the “Brewster” incident is just one of “many, many troubling things about Kevin Jennings.” Such as Jennings' telling fellow activists' to have an attitude of “F*** 'em” toward Christians and his responsibility as GLSEN's executive director for a GLSEN scandal called “Fistgate” – in which GLSEN presenters enthusiastically told Massachusetts high school youth the ins-and-outs of many unsanitary and disgusting homosexual practices. The presenters were fired, but Jennings's also verbally attacked the Massachusetts parent who outed the GLSEN workshop with a video-tape, saying he violated students' privacy.

“In a perfect world, it should be enough that this is a guy that admitted he wanted to promote homosexuality in public schools – in his own words!” said
LaBarbera.

However, making schools safe for homosexuality, may actually be the qualification that the Obama Administration is looking for. Education Secretary Arne Duncan is a veteran of Chicago's public school system, who proposed and approved controversial plans for a special public high school designed for homosexuals. There is legislation pending in Congress, the “Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act” (HR 2262) that would require schools to include “sexual orientation [and] gender identity/expression” in their anti-bullying educational efforts or face the loss of federal funding for drug-use prevention programs.

According to the Illinois Family Institute the legislation goes beyond ending bullying acts, but instead “seek to end bullying by normalizing homosexuality.”

LaBarbera points out that Jennings's defense would not fly with either the public or the media if Jennings had been a Catholic priest or a Republican appointee, and not the former director of an influential homosexual organization like GLSEN.

“There's a complete double-standard,” said LaBarbera. “The long and short of it is, if it were not a homosexual activist, and it were a Republican administration, he would be long gone.”
