SOUTH AFRICA, Jan 28 (LifeSiteNews) – South Africa’s African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) has condemned the government’s plans to redefine marriage to include homosexual couples and to incorporate abortion into the definition of pregnancy. An Evangelical Press (EP) report yesterday, says that these measures are part of an “Equality Bill” being considered by South Africa’s Africa National Congress-dominated Parliament.

Mighty Madasa of ACDP has condemned the move, reports EP, noting the absurdity of including abortion in the definition of pregnancy: “It is obvious that abortion is the opposite of pregnancy. Pregnancy is the process of bringing forth life, while abortion is killing that life.” Mr. Madasa is also objecting to the threat posed by the bill to freedoms of conscience and religion. “South African parents are concerned that the bill will bring more homosexual teachers into the classrooms, compromising the education of traditional values they wish for their children,” says EP. “ACDP’s immediate concerns are that the redefining of marriage will contribute to a breakdown of the family in South Africa, leading to higher poverty, crime,  and youth violence statistics.”
