SEOUL, South Korea, Jan 4, 2001 (LSN.ca) – The 20 Catholic bishops of South Korea have amassed 1.2 million signatures on a petition sent to the National Assembly asking the government to protect the right to life for the unborn. The Catholic News Service reported that the petition said “Abortion is murder against God’s law and natural law, which are the sources of all laws.” The collection of Catholic and non-Catholic signatures began last March and the effort culminated its presentation by Auxiliary Bishop Peter Kang Woo-il of Seoul to National Assembly Chairman Lee Man-sop on December 27.
