MADRID, September 8, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Spanish Bishop Jose Gea Escolano of Mondoñedo-Ferrol diocese lashed out against government proposals to legalize abortion on demand during the first trimester of pregnancy.  Spain’s Catholic News Agency reported this week that he said abortion is “the greatest crime ever committed in history.”“We talk about killings, concentration camps, gulags, but really thousands and thousands of children are sacrificed in the wombs of their mothers.  This is so absurd that it cannot be compared with any other genocide in history,” the bishop said.  jhw
