June 10, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Over eight thousand Paraguayans have joined themselves to a Facebook page with a simple message: Spain’s pro-abortion “Secretary of Equality” isn’t welcome in their country.

Bibiana Aido is currently in Paraguay leading the Spanish delegation to the Iberoamerican Conference on Gender, which began on Wednesday. However, thousands of Paraguayans think the country would be better off without her presence, and tens of thousands more have been invited to add their endorsement to the page.

The page quotes one of Aido’s most infamous statements, which she made in 2009: “For me, a fetus, of thirteen weeks, is a living being, clearly, but we cannot speak of a human being because there’s no scientific basis.”

The Facebook page links to videos featuring the quote, and comparing Aido’s thinking to that of Hitler and the Ku Klux Klan.

Aido is one of the most outspoken defenders of the legalized killing of unborn children in Spain, a country that has witnessed over one million abortions since the deadly procedure was legalized in the 1980s.

The socialist government of prime minister José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, with the encouragement of Aido, recently passed a law permitting abortion on demand during the first 14 weeks of pregnancy, after police arrested several abortion providers for faking diagnoses of psychological vulnerability and other infractions of the law.
