(LifeSiteNews) — Alarming new data released by the Department of Justice (DOJ) indicates that the far left, anti-Christian Southern Poverty Law Center paid what seems to be a mole on the political right over a period of eight years.
An individual identified as “F-37” was singled out in the report for having received $270,000 in exchange for helping coordinate the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. In 2021 the New York Times reported that the rally inspired Joe Biden to run for president in 2020.
Speculation as to who “F-37” could be has been rampant on social media. The DOJ said the person was a “member of the online leadership chat group” that planned the rally. It also revealed that the person made “racist postings under the supervision of the SPLC and helped coordinate transportation to the event for several attendees.”
Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche spoke alongside FBI Director Kash Patel at a news conference in Washington D.C. on April 21, 2026. They explained that the SPLC has been charged with 11 counts of bank fraud and other crimes due it secretly funneling “more than $3 million in donated funds” to members of the Ku Klux Klan, the National Socialist Party of America, and other extremist organizations that it routinely attacks publicly.

The SPLC allegedly failed to tell donors that it was using their money “to fund the leaders and organizers of racist groups at the same time that the SPLC was denouncing the same groups on its website.”
The 2017 “Unite the Right” rally was used to great effect by liberal media outlets and Democratic politicians during the 2020 election cycle. President Trump routinely faced hostile questions about the event, which his opponents said was a sign of growing “white superiority” across the country. Democrats, meanwhile, used it as a tool to denounce Trump and speak about how they would bring about a more level-headed approach to race relations.
In years past, the SPLC has frequently attacked Traditional Catholics and other groups. Big Tech companies, including Facebook, Twitter, Google, and Amazon, have partnered with the SPLC as well, using it to flag so-called “hate groups” and remove or restrict them on their platforms. Last October, FBI Director Patel announced that he was cutting ties with the group. Pressure was exerted on the SPLC by many influential persons in the wake of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Elon Musk and others rebuked the SPLC after it put Kirk’s Turning Point USA on its infamous “hate map.”
“Incitement to violence by evil propaganda organizations like SPLC is unacceptable,” Musk said. “This is getting innocent people killed.”
The FBI first endorsed the SPLC in February 2007 under former President George W. Bush. Former FBI Director James Comey praised the work of the likeminded group Anti-Defamation League at its 2014 National Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. During his remarks, Comey congratulated the ADL for its “record of success” over the past 100 years for advocating for “gender and LGBT equality to anti-Muslim prejudice.” He also praised them for working for the “separation of church and state.”
