OTTAWA, Nov 12 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The lead researcher at the Maternal Health Research Institute in Ottawa told LifeSite this week that statistics on maternal deaths resulting from abortion mishaps were very costly to acquire and not possible to disseminate. Isabelle Begin, reported that hospital morbidity data is no longer available from Statistics Canada.

It can be obtained from the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) for a fee of $200 to $500 (per request) and more, depending on the amount of work involved. Moreover, a non-disclosure form must be signed prior to the release of the data. “How’s that for access to information in Canada,” commented Begin.
